Get off your ass, Pokemon Go now in the Philippines!

After months of longing and waiting, it has finally arrived. Pokemon Go has officially landed in the Philippines and we cannot wait to catch ’em all!

Niantic Lab, the maker of the global sensation, announced via the game’s official Facebook page that Pokemon Go is now available in 15 countries, including the Philippines.

The rest are Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Palau and the Philippines.

Niantic Lab’s CEO John Hanke already explained via Twitter what took them so long to release the augmented reality game in certain areas.

He said that third party apps that have gained access to the game weakened their servers and their team had to make sure all servers are working before moving on with the expansion.

On Thu, Aug 4, Smart Telecom announced that they would treat excited Pokemon Go trainers to free data when the much anticipated mobile game arrives in the Philippines.

We wonder if Smart will make good on that promise, but for now, time to get off that couch (yes, even on a Saturday morning) and get to training!

And hey, let us know if you get a legendary type, ok?
