Marcos’ solid bronze casket is now in Batac, Ilocos Norte

Only the best for Ferdinand Marcos, right?

A solid bronze casket imported from the United States and personally chosen by his wife, Imelda, has arrived in the former president’s hometown of Batac City, Ilocos Norte, reports ABS-CBN News Online.

The report did not give its estimated value, though a check on Chinese classified ads website Alibaba.com shows the price of a solid bronze casket at below USD1,000.

In the US, a top-of-the-line bronze casket by Washington-based Savon Caskets and Urns cost USD6,900 in 2013, according to The Richest website.

Famous people who were laid to rest inside bronze caskets include Harry Houdini and John F. Kennedy,

President Rodrigo Duterte has set Sep 18 as Marcos’ burial date at Libingan ng mga Bayani despite protests by martial law victims and the National Historical Commission of the Philippines.
