Celebrity radio DJ Karen Bordador and her boyfriend Emilio Lim were arrested after a buy-bust operation in a condo unit in Pasig City on Sat, Aug 13.
Lim was allegedly a big-time supplier of drugs in high-end bars in Makati and BGC, known party spots in Metro Manila. The clients in those areas are reportedly students, wealthy teenagers, and celebrities.
What were discovered in the raid? Approximately PHP3M worth of ecstasy, marijuana, and marijuana oil. The operation also yielded drug paraphernalia, money, and a bill counting machine, TV Patrol reports.
It’s not hard to believe that they are catering to the high-end market since their goods were neatly packed in mason jars.
Senior Superintendent Tomas Apolinario told TV Patrol, “Itong operation na ito ay bunga ng direktiba ng ating chief PNP (Philippine National Police), na sugpuin ang ilegal na droga dito sa mga high-end clubs tsaka sa mga bars.”
(This operation is because of the directives of our chief PNP, that we should fight illegal drugs in high-end clubs and bars.)
Earlier, an arrested Filipino-American drug dealer named Evan Reynald Baylon pointed to Lim as his supplier.
Bordador denied involvement in the drug operations.
“Wala po akong ginagawa, bumisita lang ako [I wasn’t doing anything, I just visited],” she said as she was beng whisked away together with Lim.
Charges for violationg Republic Act 9156 or Dangerous Drugs At are now being prepared against the two.
