Congratulations! Pinoy students win medals in China Math Olympiads

Pinoy students won in two Math Olympiads held in the land where schoolchildren eat solutions and equations for breakfast. 

Teams from schools in Metro Manila and Bacolod brought home one silver and three bronze medals from the 15th China Girls Mathematical Olympiad in Beijing. They competed with number crunchers from US, Russia, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Taiwan and China. Here are our winners:

Silver
Tiffany Mae Ong (British School Manila, Grade 11)

Bronze
Angelika Joie Tagupa (Philippine Science High School-Main, Grade 10)
Natalia Beatrice Dy (St. John’s Institute in Bacolod City, Grade 10)
Jinger Chong (St. Jude Catholic School, Grade 10)

In Jiangxi, teams from Manila, Laguna and Zamboanga collected one silver and four bronze medals from the China Southeast Mathematical Olympiad in Jiangxi. They competed with fellow Math nerds from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Mongolia, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore and Thailand. Here are our winners:

The CMGO and the CSMP are considered two of the toughest math contests in China.
