Countries with best and worst reputation revealed, PH ranks 32

The Reputation Institute has released its list of countries with the best and worst international reputations — and the Philippines sits prettily above the middle at number 32.

“Their reputations were assessed according to the opinions of citizens in the eight most industrially advanced nations in the world – Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the UK and America,” reports Yahoo! Lifestyle. Views of 48,000 were surveyed.

“Factors they judged included an appealing environment, being safe to visit, socially progressive policies, an effective government, an advanced economy and friendly citizens.”

Only 72 of the world’s 195 countries were considered for the 2016 Most Reputable Countries report.

The top three were Sweden, Canada and Switzerland. The only Asia-Pacific countries who made it to the top 10 were Australia (4) and New Zealand (7).

Singapore led Southeast Asian nations at number 20, followed by Thailand (26), Malaysia (31), Philippines (32), and Indonesia (37).

The five countries with the worst reputation are Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Nigeria.
