Willing to wait po? Jollibee Skokie sets up tents for hundreds of people waiting for hours

As Chicago Eater points out, there are hundreds of places for fried chicken in America’s Midwest, so why the hell are people lining up for hours to get inside Jollibee’s first branch in Skokie, a Chicago suburb?

One customer even drove seven hours from Minnesota, only to spend more time waiting in line!

It’s gotten so bad (but oh, so good) that the restaurant set up tents for those waiting outside to get their Chickenjoy fix.

The Skokie branch opened three weeks ago, and it was attended by the mayor.

Jollibee’s 34th restaurant in the United States is open everyday from seven in the morning to 10 in the evening.

It has been covered by local media, including TV station CBS, who thinks that Jollibee’s unique selling point is that it serves chicken with spaghetti.

Wait till they try the peach mango pie, made with real Philippine mangoes.

Here’s another media coverage from You & Me, a morning talk show in Chicago, impressed by the “rock star arrival” of Jollibee.

Finally, here’s a video from a Fil-Am Jollibee fan who woke up at three in the morning on Jollibee’s opening day so he could get his gym commitment out of the way and be the first in line. Was he successful? Nah-uh.
