Liza Soberano doesn’t want to be remembered as just a pretty face

Oh, it’s so hard to be beautiful. Just ask Liza Soberano, because we wouldn’t have first-hand knowledge about that.

In an interview on ABS-CBN’s Tonight with Boy Abunda last night, Aug 22, the 18-year-old actress said she does not feel she’s beautiful.

“Ako po, I don’t feel it. Iba yung definition ko of beauty, I guess,” Liza said when asked by program host Boy Abunda if she ever gets tired when people say she’s beautiful.

(Me, I don’t feel it. I have a different definition of beauty, I guess.)

The question came after reports that American singer Charlie Puth said during his concert in Manila that he’s attracted to Liza.

In an interview with the local press last week, Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall of The Chainsmokers also said they think Liza is hot.

Liza said she likes “very classic” beauty — like Audrey Hepburn and Kendall Jenner. “I like the very simple kind of beauty, but very elegant,” she said.

When Abunda said Liza is, like Audrey and Kendall, a “classic” beauty, she objects. “Of course I can’t see that with myself,” she said.

Liza appreciates the compliments, but laments: “Pero minsan, feeling ko, yung lang ang nakikita.”

(Sometimes, I feel that’s all they see.)

She added: “And I don’t want it like that. I don’t want them to just remember me because I’m pretty.”

How to be you po, Liza?
