Filipina arrested for stabbing 3 people on a bus in Brussels

On, Mon, Aug 22, a 52-year-old woman originally from the Philippines stabbed three people on a bus in Brussels, Belgium.

Reuters revealed that Belgian media cited witnesses who claimed that the woman had been involved in an argument on the No. 38 bus.

They could not say who she had been arguing with, but they saw her pull out a knife and attack three fellow bus passengers.

After wounding the victims, the woman got off the bus. Police cordered her but she refused to surrender. She was reportedly shot twice. The woman’s name has not been released.

Belgian police spokesperson Xavier Dellicour was quoted as saying, “No motive is being ruled out at this stage but terrorism is not the most likely case.”

The woman, who will be charged with attempted murder, has not yet been questioned by prosecutors as she is still being treated at a hospital.

The report noted that the woman’s three victims have all been released from hospital.

“The Belgian capital has been on high alert since local Islamic State militants carried out the attacks in Paris last November and suicide bombings in Brussels itself in March,” it added.
