Far-view no more: DOTr launches Fairview-Makati P2P buses

For commuters living in Fairview, Quezon City, this is a dream come true!

The Department of Transportation launched a new point-to-point bus travelling from Robinson’s Novaliches in Fairview to the Makati central business district.

The 10 buses covering the 24-kilometer route are all equipped with Wi-Fi access, low-entry level for persons with disability, and CCTV monitoring.

More importantly, the buses follow a fixed schedule, leaving the terminals in 30-minute intervals.

According to Manila Bulletin, the first bus will leave Fairview at 5:30 am every weekday, and is estimated to arrive in Makati from 1.5 to 2 hours later, depending on the traffic situation on EDSA.

The first bus from Makati going to Fairview, on the other hand, leaves at 7:30am.

The fare is PHP100 from Robinson’s Novaliches to Ayala-Paseo de Roxas, with a discounted rate of PHP96 for senior citizens, PWDs and students.

Car owners who want to avail of the P2P service can park their cars in Robinson’s Novaliches for free.

“If you could imagine, kung mapupuno itong P2P bus ng (if these P2P buses will be loaded with) 40 to 50 car users, then that would be 40 to 50 cars off the road. So yun ang tina-target natin dito (that is what we are targeting here),” Mr. Delgra told BusinessWorld.

The P2P project is intended to modernize the public utility bus system. Other operational routes include Ortigas to Makati, North EDSA to Ortigas and North EDSA to Makati.
