Here’s some good news for fans of Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu— and some bad news for Yen Santos and Xian Lim.
According to Salve Asis of tabloid Pilipino Star Ngayon, ABS-CBN is cooking up a comeback project for Gerald and Kim.
Kim will reportedly replace Yen as Gerald’s partner in the upcoming TV series Because You Love Me.
Asis reported that management decided to scrap the scenes Gerald and Yen have already taped because network execs wanted Kim as the actor’s partner on the show instead.
Ouch.
It was first announced that Gerald and Yen will work together in a drama series, directed by Dan Villegas, last April.
The two even started taping for the show in Mindoro last May.
If this is true, Because You Love Me will serve as a reunion project for the once-popular love team. Their reel and real partnership ended in 2010, but they have since mended fences.
Ironically enough, Gerald is now reportedly dating Bea Alonzo, his co-star in the hit movie How To Be Yours. Gerald first dated Bea in 2010, when he was still attached to Kim as a love team.
Kim’s last project was the TV series The Story of Us with perennial screen partner Xian Lim. But reception to the show was lukewarm, prompting rumors that the network is planning to break the love team.
