Here’s scathing words from Rodrigo Duterte: “I don’t talk to criminals.”
The Philippine president yesterday snubbed Jaybee Sebastian’s offer to disclose everything he knows about the intricacies of the drug trade inside the New Bilibid Prison under one condition: Only if he can talk to Duterte himself.
Sebastian promised to reveal “important, material and almost conclusive” information.
The President dismissed Sebastian’s request early Fri morning, Sep 30, after arriving in Davao City from his Vietnam trip.
Duterte said Sebastian should talk to a fiscal or write a letter to Foreign Affairs secretary Perfecto Yasay Jr instead.
The President also added that convicts deserve what they are going through, ABS-CBN News reports.
Sebastian’s lawyer, Eduardo Arriba, earlier said that his client did not intend to ask for either amnesty or protection from the government.
He just wanted to help, with no strings attached.

Sebastian believes that the recent riot in the Bilibid was meant to eliminate him.
He is now asking to be transferred from Bilibid’s Building 14 to a different facility because he believes that his life is under threat.
