Elmo Magalona and Janine Gutierrez call it quits

Another showbiz relationship bites the dust.

Elmo Magalona and Janine Gutierrez have broken up, according to reports. The young couple called it quits after being in a relationship for two years.

According to a PEP report on Wed, Oct 19, citing an unnamed source, the two split due to “personal reasons.”

Nelson Canlas of GMA News revealed in an Instagram post on Thu, Oct 20 that Janine herself confirmed the split.

Elmo, 22, and Janine, 27, confirmed that they were in a relationship in 2014, during a press conference for their GMA TV series More Than Words. The two became close a year before, when they starred in the remake of the 90s soap opera Villa Quintana.

In 2015, Elmo left long-time home network GMA and moved to ABS-CBN. The young stars assured fans that their relationship is secure even with Elmo’s network move.

This year, Elmo was paired with Janella Salvador in the primetime series Born for You, with the young actor all the while reaffirming his relationship with Janine.
