7 winning photos of Miss International Kylie Verzosa

The Philippines has won its first — and hopefully not the last —  international beauty pageant crown this year!

Kylie Verzosa was declared Miss International 2016 in Tokyo, Japan on Thu, Oct 27. She succeeded Edymar Martinez of Venezuela. 

“I (cannot) believe this moment right now, and I am ecstatic and happy. Thank you so much to my family, to the Philippines, to everyone who supported me. I did not go through this journey alone. I had a lot of help from the people who love me,” Kylie said after she was crowned.

“I deeply appreciated this. This moment has only happened in my dreams. Thank you so much.”

The 24-year-old beauty queen from Baguio City, like Pia Wurtzbach, is a pageant “repeater.” She joined the local Binibining Pilipinas pageant in 2015, but only made it to the final 15.

Luckily, she decided to join again. She was named Bb.Pilipinas-International 2016 last Mar.
