And just like that, we have a new Miss Universe winner.
In a rather inspiring win, Miss France Iris Mittenaere took home the crown for the 65th Miss Universe pageant held in Manila.
The lovely ladies who emerged on top are :
2nd runner-up: Miss Colombia Andrea Tova
1st runner-up: Miss Haiti Raquel Pelissie
Miss Universe: Miss France Iris Mittenaere
There was a total of 86 contestants who competed in the pageant. Steve Harvey hosted the event, and performers Flo Rida and Boyz II Men provided entertainment for the cheering crowd.
The top 13 contestants were: Miss Kenya, Miss Indonesia, Miss USA, Miss Mexico, Miss Peru, Miss Panama, Miss Colombia, Miss Philippines, Miss Canada, Miss Brazil, Miss France, Miss Haiti and Miss Thailand.
Meanwhile, Miss Myanmar won best in national costume with a 40-kg puppet-inspired outfit.
The 26-year old Maxine Medina failed to give the Philippines a back-to-back win.
Last year’s winner Pia Wurtzbach took her last walk before passing the crown.
Congratulations, Miss France! And Congratulations, Steve Harvey! There were no announcement mix ups this year.
