U.S. woman pleads guilty to molesting Filipino boy whom she was adopting

Truth is stranger than fiction — and there are times when it’s simply too much to bear.

Christy Lynn Jaski — a 43-year-old woman in Wilmington, North Carolina — recently pleaded guilty to three counts of misdemeanor sexual battery involving a teenage boy whom her family was in the process of adopting from the Philippines. The Jaski family includes four daughters — two of whom are biological and two adopted from China.

StarNews of Wilmington reported that last Tue, Aug 9, Jaski was sentenced to three years of probation and must register as a sex offender for 30 years. The report didn’t say if she is still allowed to see her own children under the supervision of the Department of Social Services.

Prosecutor Lance Oehrlein explained in an Associated Press report that the incident happened sometime between Dec 2014 and Jan 2015. The boy was just 13 years old at that time. Jaski was arrested in Feb 2015.

The report further revealed that the boy — who was interviewed at the Carousel Center, a Wilmington non-profit entity that helps victims of child abuse — testified that Jaski “had French-kissed him and gotten on top of him while he was lying down.” She then groped him. The boy added that Jaski had even told him she felt as if she were his “victim” and she didn’t know how it got to “this point” between them.

The case was investigated by the Wilmington police department after Jaski allegedly sent text messages to a friend in the Philippines admitting that she had done some inappropriate things to the boy whom she already referred to as her “son.”

What makes this story even crazier is the fact that Jaski herself founded a child adoption ministry in 2004. As the Independent revealed, the ministry has operated across several US states and ensured new homes for more than 20 children.

Jaski reportedly hasn’t had any contact with the boy since he was removed from the Jaski family’s home and placed in another state.

The Independent likewise pointed out: “It is not known how far in the adoption process Jaski was with the unnamed boy, how she had come to adopt him, and her motivation behind adopting him.”
