Agents bust rogue cop for drugs in Taguig City

A delinquent police officer and his wife are facing drug charges after a joint team of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the police caught them in a buy-bust operation in Taguig City Tuesday night.

According to the PDEA, Senior Police Officer 2 Wilfredo Hidalgo and his wife, Cristina, were caught with “seven heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, weighing three grams, and one Beretta pistol.”

A team of PDEA Special Enforcement Service operatives and members of the Taguig City Police Station Anti-Illegal Drug Division-Special Operations Task Group “apprehended the couple in their own turf in Lower Bicutan,” PDEA said.

Hidalgo, assigned to the Southern Police District, had been absent without leave from the force since 2010.

Aside from Sale and Possession charges, the couple will also be charged with Illegal Possession of Firearms.
