A student of De La Salle University has filed charges against a rookie policeman for taking his iPhone and PHP10,000 in exchange for his freedom.

Victor Miranda, 18, on Monday filed robbery charges against Police Officer 1 Christian Santos at the Manila City Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the victim, the incident occurred on Feb 17 at around 5 a.m. He said he had just stepped out of a bar when the policeman approached him. The policeman reportedly asked for his iPhone and his money otherwise he will be framed for drug possession, or shot if he tries to run away.

The policeman was summoned by the Manila Police District to air his side but he failed to appear.
