Robbers hit convent; steal payroll money

No place is safe from thieves…not even a convent.

A group of armed men stormed into a convent in Quezon City past noon on Tuesday and robbed the nuns of their payroll money amounting to PHP 321,334.43.

According to the police, the robbers barged inside the convent of the Missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit on Poinsettia Road, Barangay Immaculate Conception right after an armored vehicle arrived to deliver the payroll. 

The thieves were said to have held three convent employees at gunpoint and went as far as taking the employees’ personal money and cellphones. They fled on foot after securing the money, Inquirer News reported.
