Taguig City high school grads get tuition vouchers

The Taguig City government gave more than 7,000 of its high school graduates vouchers worth P5,000 each that they can use to pay school fees.

The vouchers, released under the city’s Lifeline Assistance for Neighbors In-Need (LANI) scholarship program, can be exchanged for cash as soon as the graduates enroll in a college or a technical-vocational school.

“It is my administration’s mission to provide all of our high school graduates an opportunity to go to college and reach out for their dreams. I firmly believe that if we help our youth pursue their dreams, their families will have better lives,” re-electionist Taguig City Mayor Maria Laarni (Lani) Cayetano said.

The Taguig City Council has recently increased allocations to the LANI scholarship program to P300 million from P200 million.

“I am certain that with our scholarship program, we send our constituents a clear message that education is a priority of the city of Taguig,” Cayetano said.
