Two more bus companies have had their franchises suspended while the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board looks into accidents in Caloocan and on the North Luzon Expressway.
Ten units owned by Del Monte City Trans, including a Santrans bus that figured in an accident on the NLEX on Monday night, according to a DZMM report. The LTFRB has also suspended 11 units owned by Alro Transit, another bus company, after one of its buses hit a truck on Tuesday. The Alro bus was reportedly speeding.
The preventive suspension will last for 30 days and the LTFRB has already set hearings to investigate the two companies.
Another bus company, Everlasting Transport, earlier had its 10 buses grounded for inspection and its drivers and conductors tested for drugs after an accident that also happened on Monday night.
Together, the three bus accidents left 140 people injured.
