73-year-old Roland Chua Kim Seng is a wondrous mainstay at Tampines MRT station, where he grooves to techno (and other danceable tunes) like no one is watching.

The septuagenarian familiar to many as Uncle Roland is a regular busker at Ang Mo Kio and Tampines MRT stations, where he gyrates, bops and gambols to dank beats as if he’s much, much younger. Definitely a more welcome sight than the beg-packing buskers spotted last month at Tampines bus interchange.

38-year-old Australian Vickie Saunders took a liking to Uncle Roland’s moves and decided to challenge him to a good ol’ dance-off last Saturday afternoon. As you can see, she definitely didn’t stand a chance against his grizzled footworks.

“He is amazing,” Saunders said to TODAY. “He killed us in three minutes.”

Anyone else who’d like to step up to Uncle Roland, kindly shake a leg when you see him around Tampines.
