A wedding banquet at a kopitiam? Why not

It may not be the most glamourous of places, but with a little decor magic even a humble kopitiam can be transformed into a charming wedding venue.

Wanbao reports that a 27-year-old Singaporean man did exactly that last Sunday, holding his wedding banquet at a coffee shop. A total of 38 tables were hosted during the makeshift wedding dinner, which turned out to look pretty fetching.

The man and his bride chose the kopitiam over the standard wedding venues of hotels, restaurants and banquet halls to honour his father’s wishes — the hope for a dinner with a more “kampung flavour”.

A coffee shop wedding is not recommended for other less open-minded families though, they’d probably break out in violent fits.
