Valentines is just around the corner and before you know it, your other half will be nagging you for gifts. Well, here’s one that will certainly score you points.

Cocoa Monster is a local brand that started selling chocolates in 2013. It may be a relatively new player in the market but its main brand, the family-owned TP Food Processing Corp, has been in the cocoa manufacturing business for more than three decades now. It is engaged in the processing and manufacturing of cocoa products.

Its operations started in 1983 in a rented factory site in Quezon City. Four years later, it embarked in an expansion program and purchased its own manufacturing plant and facilities located in Bicutan, Taguig. Since then, TP has been exporting cocoa products for wholesale across Europe and the US. In 2013, the Lim family decided it was finally time to introduce its products to the local retail market under the name Cocoa Monster.

Cocoa Monster is proudly homegrown. It is one of the few local corporations to sell chocolate products that’s wholly produced within the Philippines, from bean to bar. It sources the cacao beans directly from the farmers/traders, the majority of whom are based in Davao.

Roses or chocolates? It’s not really such a hard decision, especially when you have brands like Cocoa Monster that not only help the local cacao industry, but also provide delicious chocolates in all sorts of shapes, flavors, and forms.

Their chocolate truffles come in a myriad of flavors like Coffee, Orange, Peanut Butter, Almond, Pistachio, Walnut, Cornflakes, Mint, and Rice Crispies.

It offers Dutch Processed Cocoa Powder, Chocolate Tablea Rolls, and this, Chocolate Fondue for Chocolate Fountain (PHP150/250g).

A new addition to the Cocoa Monster range is the Chocolate Mangoes, which retails at PHP250 per box.
