Amid all the flak that Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte has gotten over his so-called “kissing spree” during a political sortie, his supporters have come to his defense.

Pehaps, one of Duterte’s most prominent supporters is Sen. Koko Pimentel who brushed off Duterte’s smooching antics.
“Pimentel is the President of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), where Duterte is its standard-bearer and named the party’s new chair,” noted Nestor Corrales on Inquirer.net.
Pimentel was quoted as saying, “I think people will be forgiving and understanding at tsaka (and besides) the video and the photos do not tell the whole story.”
He added, “Basta ang importante dito, wala pong malisya doon (The important thing here there is no malice there) and these are his supporters).”
Pimentel also pointed out that Duterte’s supporters were just “enjoying” hanging out with him.
Pimentel then quipped, “Ang advice ko kay Mayor Duterte (My advice to may Mayor Duterte is), just be yourself, enjoy the campaign.”
