Kiko Matos tells Baron Geisler: ‘Face me, don’t Facebook me’

Is a rematch between Baron Geisler and Kiko Matos brewing?

Independent actor Kiko issued a dare to Baron Geisler after the two engaged in a violent encounter at a bar in Quezon City.

A video of the incident, which was first uploaded by Facebook user Medmessiah CombatBoi, shows the two shaking hands before Baron punched Kiko.

According to initial reports, Baron supposedly called out Kiko because the latter was disrespecting a female bartender.

“Baron Geisler, ang dami mong sinasabi e! Face me, don’t Facebook me!” Kiko said in an interview with GMA’s news program 24 Oras Weekend aired on Sun, May 29.

Kiko — who recently appeared in movies such as Straight to the Heart, Babagwa, and Nilalang — further explained: “Tumayo ako. Tapos sinabi ko sa sarili ko, subukan nga natin yung tapang ni Baron Geisler. So nilapitan ko siya. Tapos inaawat kami. Hanggang sa naisip ko na lang, sige, mag-shake hands. (I stood up. I told myself, let’s see how brave Baron Geisler is. So I approached him, People tried to pacify us. So I thought, okay, I’ll just shake hands with him.)”

Kiko added, “Alam ko, aminado ako, ako pa nakipag-shake hands. Pero gusto ko lang naman turuan ng leksyon si Baron, e. (I admit I’m the one who shook hands with Baron, but I just want to teach him a lesson).”

Meanwhile, in a separate interview with 24 Oras Weekend, Baron said he is ready to face Kiko any time, anywhere.

“Si Kiko Matos, I mean, go ahead. I’m willing to fight him, to face him, anytime, anywhere,” he said.

Earlier this month, Baron was involved in an altercation with University of the Philippines Diliman student Khalil Versoza. However, the two managed to mend fences days after the incident turned viral.

In this case, we hope Baron and Kiko can also take the high road in this incident. Showbiz is a very small business, after all, and they are likely to see each other again sooner or later.
