Singer Jimmy Bondoc defends appointment as PAGCOR’s AVP for Entertainment

“I don’t mind people question the credentials of some of us appointees. I know that’s part of life.”

That’s what singer Jimmy Bondoc said in reaction to the nasty comments that were directed at him after it was announced that President Rodrigo Duterte had appointed as the assistant vice president of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).

It may be recalled that Jimmy was one the celebrities who supported Duterte. In fact, he composed the song, “Takbo,” which he dedicated to Duterte. The song was sung by other singers who also backed Duterte such as Luke Mejares and Paolo Santos.

For the record, another celebrity supporter of Duterte, Arnell Ignacio, was appointed as PAGCOR’s assistant vice president for community relations and services.

Anyway, Jimmy posted his statement on his social media pages. He began his message to his detractors by writing, “In a social media-oriented world, I think that i must share with you a little part of my CV (curriculum vitae) or resumé.” He then proceeded to tell them that he got his education from the Ateneo de Manila University “from prep to college.” He graduated with an AB Communication degree in 1997.
