Christmas treat: Free LRT-1 rides for PWDs and senior citizens this Holiday season

The most wonderful time of the year just got even better, thanks to the LRT-1 management who seems to be going out of its way to spread the Christmas love.

The Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), operator of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) system is offering free rides to all senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) during all weekends and holidays from Dec 3, 2016 to Jan 8, 2017 in all LRT-1 stations, Rappler reports.

The only conditions? Those who want to avail of the free rides must (1) have a concessionary beep card, and (2) must be accompanied by at least two family members during the trips. They must proceed to the teller’s booth in any station to activate the free ride.

Also, LRMC is extending its operating hours to 11pm until Dec 23. They have added 7 additional late-night trips to adress the rush hour demand.
