A restaurant in Legaspi Village, Makati, has been included in a list of 207 greatest restaurants around the world by Condé Nast Traveler magazine.
The lucky establishment is Your Local, which serves modernized (and, dare we say it hipsterized) Asian dishes.
It was their pomelo salad, in fact, that earned them a spot.
“I still dream of the pomelo salad with shrimp, winged beans, wild rocket, yuzu, nam jim, pickled quail eggs, and Thai coconut ‘ice cream,’” said magazine editor Ashlea Halpern.
Maharlika Filipino Moderno, a Filipino restaurant in New York’s East Village, also made it to the list.
Writer Cherae Robinson said that Maharlika Filipino Moderno “executes some of the best Filipino cuisine outside Manila.”
She raved about the brunch options including the Filipino-style fried chicken with purple yam waffles and the silog options with longganisa pork sausage and “amazing” garlic rice.
Bravo.
