Confirmed: Kris Aquino will appear in Marian Rivera’s GMA morning show

Kris Aquino is, indeed, back. And her first stop: GMA’s morning talk show. 

In an Instagram post on Mon, Jun 27, the TV host-actress confirmed that she will be a guest in Marian Rivera’s GMA morning talk show Yan Ang Morning.

Kris said her guest appearance is a fulfillment of her promise to Marian and her husband Dingdong Dantes.

According to tabloid reports, Kris agreed to appear on the GMA morning program to show her gratitude to Dingdong for helping out in the vice presidential campaign of Leni Robredo.

No word yet on whether she will make appear in any ABS-CBN show. So it looks like Kris’ first television appearance after her two-month vacation will be on GMA, the rival network for of her former home network.

A few months ago, the idea that Kris would be appearing on GMA — and on its morning talk show, no less — would have been laughed at.

Kris was the undisputed queen of ABS-CBN’s early morning timeslot, before she left for her showbiz hiatus earlier this year. In fact, she has done at least five morning talk shows for ABS-CBN from 1996 to 2016. Her last, Kris TV, aired from 2011 to 2016.

But the TV host is no stranger to the Kapuso Network. She was co-host of GMA’s now defunct showbiz talk show Startalk from 1995 to 1996 before moving to ABS-CBN.

Kris did not renew her contract with ABS-CBN last March, but her friend Boy Abunda said the TV host and the Kapamilya network are “talking about a possible show or shows.”
